Audi A3 Soft-top Convertible Review
Audi claims credit for creating the prestige compact hatchback niche and in the A3 offers a vehicle that successfully combines sporting character with practicality, albeit at a higher price than its closest relation, the Volkswagen Golf. Audi quality, a strong engine line-up that includes advanced FSI petrol units, advanced technology in the efficient Dynamic Shift Gearbox automatic transmission and a wide price range allows the A3 to compete strongly on many fronts. Original three-door models were joined by five-door Sportback versions in September 2004.

Standard versions of the A3 are fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, electric heated door mirrors, speed-sensitive power steering, remote central locking, radio cassette system, electric front windows and split-folding rear seats. Electric rear windows are standard on all five-door models.

The SE versions add climate control, auto-dipping rear view mirror, cruise control, front centre armrest, audio system with CD player, interior lighting package, extra storage nets front and rear, storage compartment under the driver's seat, automatic headlamps with see-you-home function and wood and leather cabin detailing.

The Sport versions, which cost the same as the SE, feature 17-inch alloys, climate control, front sports seats and steering wheel, sports suspension, front fog lamps, rear window blind and gloss finish inlay for the cabin.
