Review
Every big Citroen since the original C6 of 1928 has been innovative and iconic, and the latest example extends that heritage admirably. Supple ride, sumptuous interior, a perky diesel engine and generous equipment as standard combine in a body that could only have come with the double chevron badge on the front. Pricing is steep, though, which means Citroen is right to expect annual UK sales of this build-to-order executive car in the hundreds, rather than thousands.

Citroen feels this is where it justifies the price of the C6, pointing out that to bring rival German vehicles to the same level of equipment would add around £10,000 to the cost. Entry trim brings 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch on the diesel), cruise control, dual-zone climate control, four electric windows, electric adjustment on both front seats, central armrests front and rear, four 12-volt sockets, speed-sensitive rear spoiler, trip computer, automatic dual-xenon headlights, automatic wipers, front fog lights, electric-heated mirrors, auto-dimming interior mirror, rear sun blind, chilled glovebox, boot net and radio-CD player. Lignage trim adds 18-inch alloys to the petrol car, part-leather upholstery, head-up display reflecting speed and other information on the inside of the windscreen in front of the driver, front and rear parking sensors, steering-controlled headlight direction and auto-dimming door mirrors. Exclusive trim adds full leather upholstery, wood trim on the fascia and door bins, heating on all seats, lane-departure warning system, colour-screen satnav, and upgraded hi-fi with a six-CD changer, eight speakers and an MP3 facility.
