Jaguar X Type Saloon
Review
Launched in in 2001, the X-Type is a vital model for Ford, an executive sports saloon pitched directly at the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. It has largely underperformed for the brand, with diesel engine versions coming relatively late to the market. However, it is an able car and the engine choice is strong in terms of performance and economy. Using the Mondeo platform has helped keep costs low, although it has not helped the brand image. Both saloon and estate versions are offered.
