Renault Megane Hard-top Convertible Review
The Renault Megane has been a big success in its second generation, securing the position of Europe's number one selling car in 2003. The launch of successive M£ne models has taken place since September 2002: three/five-door hatchbacks were the first to market, followed, in no particular order, by the Sport Saloon, Sport Tourer (estate), Coupe-Cabriolet, standard and long-wheelbase versions of the Scenic MPV and, in summer 2004, a hot Renaultsport hatch with a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. An avant-garde style, penned by Patrick Le Quement, has directed attention towards the highly individual model range, which still receives critical acclaim and polarises opinions.

All models are well specified as standard and include rake/reach adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver's seat and electric front windows on all models. Above the entry-level Extreme and Authentique models (three and five-door), rear electric windows are fitted, along with electric/heated door mirrors, a single CD player stereo, split-folding rear seats and manual driver's seat height adjustment. Air conditioning is standard on Dynamique and above models, changing to climate control for Privilege specification, which also gains a multi-CD stereo. Alloy wheels are fitted at Privilege trim level on the hatchback, but on all but Authentique and Expression versions of the saloon and Tourer, while all CC models receive alloys. In autumn 2006 GT hatchbacks were launched, featuring a full body kit, lowered suspension and sports-themed interior.
