Entry-level Expression trim is available only on the 1.4-litre petrol car. It includes power steering, electric front windows and a radio-CD player. Pay another £1,000 for Life trim and gain aircon and several cosmetic extras. A further £1,000 for Club adds 15-inch alloy wheels, audio controls on the steering wheel, electric and heated door mirrors, and reading lights front and rear.
Another £1,000 brings Design trim with 16-inch alloys, sports front seats in part leather, leather-clad steering wheel, Driver Information Centre with trip computer, MP3 facility on the radio-CD player, rear electric windows and rain-sensitive windscreen wipers.
A final £900 brings Elite trim, with climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery, electric-folding door mirrors, a 40-20-40 split-fold rear seat and a rear-centre head restraint.
For £500 more than Club trim the SXi (1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 diesels only) comes with 16-inch alloys, lowered sports suspension, sports front seats, matt-chrome centre console, leather-clad steering wheel, black sports instruments, an MP3 facility on the radio-CD, and front foglights. For a further £1,200 more than Club, the SRi (1.8, 2.0T and 1.7 diesel 100hp only), has 17-inch alloys, stability program, traction control, alarm, Driver Information Centre, rear spoiler, and SportSwitch, which sharpens throttle and steering response. Not all engines are available with all trims.
