Volkswagen Eos Hard-top Convertible Review
Volkswagen's contribution to the burgeoning hardtop-convertible market is not, as many think, an open-top re-skinned Golf. It's an all-new car that shares not a single panel with any other vehicle in the VW range. It does, however, borrow various dynamic underpinnings from both the Golf and Passat. The result is a car that looks pretty with the roof down and dumpy with it up, but one that drives well and benefits from the VW Group's fine assortment of engines and transmissions.

There are three trim levels: Eos, Eos Sport and 3.2 V6. Eos-trim models get 16-inch alloy wheels, four-speaker radio-CD player, semi-auto air conditioning, electric windows, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, front fog lights, front centre armrest with 12-volt socket, cooled glovebox, rear parking sensors and LED rear lights. Eos Sport models gain 17-inch alloy wheels, aluminium pedals, brushed-aluminium cabin trim, carpet mats, flat-tyre indicator, footwell illumination, lowered suspension, trip computer and, on the 2.0 FSI only, an extra four speakers. The 3.2 V6 gains automatic lighting and wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and driver's door mirror, electric-folding door mirrors, heated front seats, leather upholstery and the eight-speaker radio-CD player.
